Hi I’m Stephen, CEO and founder of Evergreen.

As an entrepreneur in health and sustainability, I realised that businesses delivering positive social and environmental change performed well, yet sometimes these businesses needed support. Evergreen was founded in 2014 (previously Ascent Ventures ltd) to support businesses in their growth, maximising their potential to deliver social change.

I founded Ascribe in 1989, with a vision to ensure all health decisions were informed at the point of care -this business grew to serve more than 75% of UK hospitals as well as hospitals overseas. I also founded ASC Renewables, delivering sustainability without compromise. ASC Renewables went on to acquire Qualitick Ltd, industry leaders in supporting contractors who provide sustainability installation and expertise nation-wide. They now operate under the brand Evergreen Energy.

I have invested over £2m supporting UK-based start-ups and social enterprises.
